Exiled to Lunar Lakes - Chapter 8 - Death Does Not Bow

Hey guys! This chapter seems a bit early, but I promise it isn't! My new goal is to update Exiled to Lunar Lakes at least once a month. I would like to be on a schedule and update more often but uh...it's the holidays. Things are a bit hectic. Regarding the whole "Past" thing, all chapters in this arc are placed in the past. I can't really move forward in the present right now as the past REALLY determines the future. This arc explains the whole "how the hell did Petre and Zo get stuck in a simulation." It also explains other thing as well, but I'll leave that up to you guys to find out. ;)
I tried something new with the edits. I hope you guys like it. I'm using a new editing program that I'm loving.

The mercenary had killed several members of the king’s court.

Two had been nobles that had left their territories in the midst of destruction and decided to let those who lived there starve to death.

Another had been known to leave his servants in unspeakable shape that had only warranted a small warning from his majesty about how hard they would be to replace and that the other servants became less productive having to clean up after them, dead or alive.

Zoraida though?
She asked for the death of a simple castle chef, the money she had been given to by other servants who had been done with his gazing eyes and hollow smirk.
When he had turned that gaze upon Zoraida, she knew he was next to be killed.

The mercenary had never been caught and yet few decided to try and meet up with him. Zoraida, the white sorceress, was past fear.

She had been seen as a weak and feeble thing, her pale skin and hair only helping the image of a fragile creature.

She was the king’s pet, a sorceress that had showed her magic at the late age of fourteen when sorceresses had been had thought to have been extinct.

Instead of being killed, she had been kidnapped and imprisoned before being studied. Scientists had discovered she was gifted with a rare form of magic that caused death to follow in her footsteps, but never to come near.

It was the only type of magic that had seemed to survive the apocalypse.

She held death at her fingertips, but it did not bow to her will.

Zoraida was thin though she was certainly not unhealthy; she ate well as no one liked a broken toy. Her magic was sometimes on display with flickering lights that would shatter as the darkness creeped in and then...didn’t.

It was much like a party joke she didn’t understand; everyone laughed and she was the one to stare in confusion.
It made her angry. Unspeakably angry. She leashed her anger, waiting for the day her knuckles could connect with one of the nobles’s ruddy faces as she looked on docily.

She was viewed as a doll and so she acted like until the day she crept out of the castle and held herself straighter as she walked confidently into the darkness.

The winter air nipped at her and tried to get past her coat’s defenses. She tugged it closer to her as snowflakes rushed to the ground, desperate to cover the ground in a thick blanket.
She was suppose to be meeting her car by the wall that separated the capital from the Wasteland.

Oasis Landing had been lush and full of vegetation until the day safety precautions were destroyed and technology growth took its place.
Chemical waste had built up and a dumping area had been established that grew larger and larger into the territory now known as the Wasteland on the border of the capital.

The Wasteland was deadly now; you died quickly at best or you died slowly from contamination during the years at worse.
Precautions had been taking to keep it from spreading, but the damage still remained.
The poorest took their chances in scavenging and living there as once you got in to Oasis Landing, you rarely ever got out.

It was the only place in Oasis Landing that the poor could try to carve a life out of.
The center of Oasis Landing was a gilded cage.

She had lived in cages her whole life, big and small, and she wasn’t so sure what she would do if she got out of them.

Walking around Oasis Landing at night wasn’t too terrifying; most criminals that were caught were executed while a few disappeared without a trace. The criminals that weren’t punished were the rich and powerful. They could commit the crime in daylight and it wouldn’t make that big of a difference.
Cameras were placed discreetly in corners on public streets, but could be avoided if you knew where to look. Her pace quickened as she pulled up her sleeve to check her watch for the time.

It was 11 o’clock at night and she was suppose to meet a car at 11:30 to take her to the edge of the barrier.
She wasn’t sure she would meet the car in time. She could have taken one of the more modern forms of transportation, but had chosen not to.

Oasis Landing was ahead of its time and other cities like it by decades, maybe even hundreds of years.

The clothing styles on Oasis Landing were different from the rest of the world’s yet seeing regular clothing wasn’t too uncommon.
No matter how crazy and eccentric the signature clothing from Oasis Landing got, there would always be something else to choose from.
Twenty minutes later, Zoraida finally reached the barrier of Oasis Landing. The farther away you got from the palace, the worse it became. The barrier was dented, it’s metal starting to rust. It was the fine line between the Wasteland and the city.

Crossing it was a task within itself.
Luckily for her, she had been directed to a person who could get her through the barrier and back in unnoticed. All it required was a hefty price.

Zoraida had been tempted to steal from the nobles that paraded around the palace without care. Her fingers had itched to grab a few coins and make a run for it.
She had to be more careful than that, less impulsive. She snorted.
She was the definition of impulsive when she could be. It had taken a long time and a lot of discipline to learn how to bite her tongue.

The car finally drove up to Zoraida and without much of a thought, she opened the door as she went to meet with a licensed murderer.

Exiled to Lunar Lakes - Chapter 7, Part 2 - The Lie and the Liar

Hi guys! I know it's been a while since the last chapter and so I created this post to basically just catch everyone up quickly on what happened in previous chapters.
I need to address a few things before we get into this chapter. I will no longer be updating this story on Boolprop. A few weeks ago, I was going to scrap this story completely but some friends of mine helped convince me not to do so. For that, I am forever thankful. You might notice that commenting is now turned off. That's due to safety reasons and while as of right now I do think they will come back on in the future, they will be under moderation.
If you would like updates for when these chapters are coming out, contact me on Carls!
I ask that you please do not contact me regarding why these changes have taken place.
Thanks!

Warning: Flashing GIF at the end

“The man, patient 0298, what crime did he commit?” The woman had walked into a room similar to the other, nearly identical though it smelled faintly of bleach where the other didn’t. The man’s hands were clenched into fists whereas the woman, patient 0587, had been deathly still next to her.

She wondered how real the simulation was to him.

“He was a mercenary hired to kill a noble according to our sources.” The confidence in the man’s voice continued to grow the longer she was there. He thought she wouldn’t kill him. Maybe she wouldn’t, but he would have to be disposed of. Quickly.

“The king would never allow a mercenary who threatened his court to survive.” She said with the arrogance that the king’s ambassadors often took on. While she knew the king would do whatever he wanted as long as it benefited him, it was the type of foolish statement that made her look weak enough for this man to get more comfortable and tell her more.

“Perhaps he wouldn’t in usual cases, but he did here.” The man replied haughtily. He had come a far way during their conversation from the man who looked ready to wet himself. She was feeling less sorry that he was going to die.

“Tell me, why did you show me patient 0298?” Her voice droned on, her foot rasping against the tile floors as she deliberately tried to look impatient and bored.

Humans were fidgety and didn’t like waiting for a long time. The more human she appeared, the better.

“Patient 0298 is now connected to patient 0587 after finding her at a bar. We expected him to react negatively to her due to his past, but instead he reacted...positively. Very positively.” The man shifted awkwardly as he stared at the direction of the patient, his own impatience starting to make an appearance as he tapped against the clipboard that had been handed to him after exiting patient 0587’s room.

“Positively in what way?”
The man gave her a look as if willing her to figure it out without explaining before he realized she wanted a direct answer.

“He offered her a place to stay after she had been categorized as homeless due to the cautions needed to be taken based off of her earlier actions. Patient 0298 broke the carefully in place system by offering her a place to live and protecting her.”

The woman gave him a look of disappointment. That was it? That was his grand evidence? The man paused for a moment as his fingers started trembling again, “Patients usually don’t ban together as the system keeps them mostly isolated except in rare social circumstances. You see, we try our very, very best to make sure the simulation is as realistic as possible so the patients never see through it. It would be dangerous.”

If the man was foolish enough to think that humans being by choice isolated added realism to the simulator, then it was a surprise this hadn’t fallen apart already. Saying that isolating human beings gives power to the experiment in the long run is another thing, saying it adds realism to the experiment is another. “What is your course of action regarding these to patients?”

The man looked at the contents of his clipboard before replying. His eyes widened as his whole body shook. “We have already put into plan their deaths in the simulation after observing how patient 0587 didn’t fit. We hope to come up with a solution after their immediate executions outside the-”

“-find the solution and then kill them. The king will be interested in this development. If you kill them before you find the solution, you and your living relatives will meet...interesting circumstances themselves.” The woman finished icily as the man messed with his glasses. Time. She needed to give these patients time.

“Ambassador, please. This wasn’t my choice. I’m simply a-”
“-I simply don’t care. You wouldn’t want to disappoint his majesty now, would you? Stop shaking like a small child. I’ll be expecting a report for his majesty the next time I visit.” The woman leaned forward and fixed his now crooked glasses with a cold smile.
Whatever humanity she may have within her would not be extended to this man. No, she would make everyone who had stepped foot into this building to destroy these patients’s lives pay.

She was no human being with their shaky morals. She was a monster wearing a human’s skin who had been forced to bow a long time ago. Now these humans would bow to her as she accomplished what she had been set out to do.

Exiled to Lunar Lakes Summary (Chapter 1 - 7, Part 1)

I decided to put this post together because I thought it might be helpful and I know it's been a while since I posted a chapter so let's go over what happened:

Warning: It's a bit random at times because my brain is an odd place. These summaries have the chance to either catch you up or confuse you more. Most likely both will happen.

Chapter 1 - Zoraida ended up in Lunar Lakes. She gets abducted and has a little chat with some lady who is unnamed. She ends up homeless.

Chapter 2 - Zoraida meets Petre while trying to get a drink. She gets a free drink only for the lady to die on her. Petre asks if Zo is going to finish her drink and she tries to punch him.
It's the start of a beautiful friendship.

Chapter 3 -  Zoraida gets abducted again. It is only chapter three. The writer must have gotten bored. The lights start flickering.
Petre throws in some lore and we get our first Petre POV. He's an adorable human being.

Chapter 4 (Part 1 and 2 - Both parts combined) - There's a memory sequence. HOLY CRAP THERE'S FORESHADOWING. I'm writing chapter 8 right now and I didn't really realize I was foreshadowing so I'm excited. *Clears throat* Right, right I'm doing this to catch you guys up. Not me... >.>
ANOTHER PETRE POV.
Zoraida doesn't want to leave so Petre carries her out of the mysterious location.

Chapter 5 - Zoraida and Petre bond. Things get steamy and it doesn't seem like Petre is going to be smoking anytime soon.

Chapter 6 - The chapter starts off with an interesting sequence that is definitely foreshadowing.  Zoraida and Petre act all adorable together.

Chapter 7, Part 1 - A new character is introduced that is seen walking through a lab talking about an "experiment." It is talked about it being a simulation and specific patients are brought up. What appears to be a familiar character is shown in one of the hospital beds.

I basically just reread the chapters and wrote down what stuck out to me. If you need more of a refresher, please just look over the chapters. =)

Let's Talk

I know this is a bit odd after I posted a note saying I'm leaving, but I'm going to cut to the chase and tell you that I'm not going to be leaving this blog after all. I've decided to continue Hadley's Sliding Door Challenge and Exiled to Lunar Lakes.
I've had many, many conversations with wonderful people about what I should do and while they were sad to hear that I didn't plan to continue my stories, they still supported me and tried to cheer me up. You guys are a large reason why I'm still here in the community. Though so many don't have my back, you guys have and I can't thank you guys enough. You saw me and not just my stories and builds. In your eyes, I'm not just those things and I'm so happy to call each of you friends.

I won't say the situation I went through hasn't taught me some things. I've also decided not to directly address the situation as it is done. I've taken the necessarily steps to no longer be apart of it to the point I have had to sacrifice two of my stories in order to.
Broken Shadows, my new legacy, is now a private blog. It can no longer be accessed.
Still Alive Short Dynasty will no longer be updated as was originally planned.
I ask that you please do not contact me regarding my reasons for doing this and my original plan to leave this blog along with stopping to no longer write stories in the simming community.

Comments are also off as for now. As much as I love your guys's feedback, I can't take chances. If they do come back, they will be under moderation.
If somehow this situation gets worse with me coming back, I'll just change this blog to a private one. I will give individuals access to it using Blogger's reading list. I've done a bit of research about it. In that situation, there wouldn't likely be moderation with comments. It would be more relaxed.

I'll also no longer be updating any more of my stories on Boolprop as I am no longer apart of it. Boolprop is a wonderful community and while I have no plans of returning to it currently, please tell everyone I said hi if you're a member or just plan on joining. I MISS THEM.
If you are a member, contact me! Tell me how you're doing. I love you guys.

If anyone who was following my stories using Boolprop needs to be updated elsewhere, I do have plans on sending out updates via personal messages on Carls. Just tell me which story and/or challenge you want to follow and I'll put you on the majestic list of majesticness to be told when a new chapter is up. I ask again that you please do not contact me regarding the situation that happened.
If things do go to shit and you have contacted me about updates, I'll probably ask you if you want to be on the reading list. You'll have to create a blogger account though, just a heads up.

Alright, I think I addressed everything. I'll be moving around things on the blog and maybe doing some redecorating, not sure yet.
Hope you guys are all having a good day!
Bye!

I'm Leaving

Hi guys!
So I'm ending my stories and challenges.
I've decided to no longer write for the simming community anymore.
This is a solution I have come to after a lot of things happened.
I love this blog but I can't..I can't stay active on it after this.
Thank you for reading.

Sincerely,
Mpart.

Edit: I'm staying. Please read my newest author's note - Let's Talk

Hadley's Sliding Door Challenge - Door 1 - Chapter 12 - Why, Why?

This is officially the last update/chapter for SimNo! It's been a crazy ride, but I'm happy to have some sanity back again.
Let's begin!
Awwww! This made me so happy. I'm glad Hadley bonded so well with Icarus and Ixon.

Just in case anyone was interested. I don't remember who asked her, but I have officially begun plotting matchmaking for her.

"Say elephant, Brenda!"
Wait...Brenda? That one has a real name?
"Oh writer, I've already accepted the fact I'll be going senile in my old age. I gave her a name before you did."
FAIR ENOUGH.

Daniel has taken up painting again. He gets a wish for it every now again even though he has no traits  or skills related to it.

He painted this.
"Look writer! I'm foreshadowing! Aren't you proud of me?"
If you hurt Hadley I will kill you, mark my words.

HOLY SHIT BRENDA AGED UP.
What the hell?
"It's another day writer, see? We're all stuck doing homework."
Thanks Kaiya. Her grumpy face reminds me so much of Hadley for some reason.

HADLEY! BRENDA NEEDS HELP WITH HER HOMEWORK.
"Just wait, writer. I'm helping out Natasha here."
...Natasha who?

To avoid the madness, I sent Emmaline off to do karaoke at the diner as she had a wish to.
Emaline, what the hell is that face?
"It's my surprised-but-still-somehow-singing-face."
That makes no sense, but I'll accept it.

The next day Hadley had a wish to teach Emmaline how to drive. It was Leisure day so I thought "why the hell not?"
"Mom isn't driving basically just like go-kart racing?"
"...Em please don't make me get out of this car."
Yep, this is the definition of relaxation.

After a stressful morning, I sent everyone off to the summer festival.
"Writer I don't think I can do this..."
I can't help you there. I still run into doorways.

Luckily, Zion and Emmaline had a better hang of it than Hadley did.

Awwwwww. This is so cute. They're skating together.
"I can't believe I haven't fallen, Em!"

I nearly got a cute picture of them all together, but Kaiya kept glitching out.
Damn it Kaiya.

What does that smile mean, Hadley?
"I bought fireworks."
...how many fireworks did you buy?
"Not enough."

Everyone else did not seem to be as excited as Hadley was about the fireworks.

Kaiya seems to be the only who is Hadley's true child. I'm pretty sure Daniel went to sleep before the first firework was even set off.
Just because it was three a.m. doesn't mean you should have gone to bed Daniel!

The plumbob firework officially signaled the end to Leisure day. Next day it was back to the madness.

"Of course I will!"
I have a bad feeling about this.
Oh well. At least I won't make the mistake of having him throw it at the house like Hadley did.

Emmaline is slightly obsessed with the DJ booth and karaoke bar.  She keeps rolling wishes for them. If this was a legacy and she was the next heiress, I would have her move to Starlight Shores when she aged up.

Emmaline what's it with the weird faces this chapter?
"I can't feel my face."
You look crazy.

Bernard here was learning how to play the xylophone with Hadley's help.
"Bernard, writer?"
I'm 45% sure I called another kid that in later chapters but...meh.

"Time for my bachelor party!"
Yay. This can't end badly at all.

Who the hell are you spraying with nectar, Daniel?
"I don't know who, but it's fun!"

I bet no one saw that coming. *Insert sarcasm here.*

Daniel...there's a party dancer...right there.
"This random lady is talking to me about books though!"
Fair enough.

Daniel has continued to ignore the party dancer in order to play Foosball.
In this moment, I have so much respect for him.

After playing Foosball against himself, Daniel decided to randomly start dancing.

"Look writer! I'm dancing on the counter now!"
DON'T BREAK YOUR BACK.

Wait...why the hell is Ursula here?
"She's my best friend, remember?"
"Oooh, I'm telling your wife!"
"Do I know you?"
Well shit.

The second thing Ursula does after greeting him is try to flirt with him.
"Sorry...I have a fiancee."
*Daniel gets a wish to flirt with Ursula.*
Are you shitting me.

The game tried to kick everyone out at that moment.
Even the game doesn't approve of Daniel's actions.

"Well you know...a little flirting CAN'T hurt. It's my bachelor party after all."
YOUR BACHELOR PARTY ENDED AN HOUR AGO.
GET YOUR ASS HOME.

"Don't listen to your writer. A little flirting never killed anybody."
You bitch.

*Daniel gets a wish to kiss her.*
Times like these make me want to reach through the computer screen and choke my sims out.

She accepted his kiss. No surprise there.

The game finally kicked out Ursula and Daniel as they were the last ones there.

I hate these two and Daniel keeps getting wishes for her.
Well, I'm going to end this chapter here.
SimNaNo was one hell of a challenge!
Bye guys!
